So today while i was making my way to relief society, i thought i would pop my head in the primary room to see how Shawn and William were doing... and to my great surprise, and joy i saw that William had earned the "reverence crown" so i smiled to myself and pridefully walked down the hall to my class thinking "yea! all of our persistence is starting to pay off!" so after church i excitedly say to Shawn, "so, i saw that Will had earned the reverence crown!", to which he then explains...
"William was difficult and I had to hold him the whole time to keep him from leaving the room. I told William that if he was reverent and sat still without my help, that he might win the reverence crown. And to my surprise, while I am still holding him at the end of the class, they call him up as a winner of the reverence crown. Oh great. I tell myself. So reluctantly I let him go even though he hadn't really earned it, but hoped that he would at least follow the lead of the primary presidency .
So he walks calmly to the front of the room and lets them place the crown on his head. They ask "Show us how you are reverent". To which he quickly replied.
"I'm not reverent!", and he abruptly knocks the crown off his head and walks briskly back to his seat with nothing more to say.
I could tell the adults thought it was funny but were trying hard not to show it."
i have to admit i was laughing pretty hard as Shawn was telling me the story. and was so glad Shawn was with him toady instead of me, because i am not sure what i would have done.
i guess we are not as far long as i had hoped!

Oh my word, Alina, that is so funny! LOL! If it makes you feel any better, though, Sam tore his up when he got it last week.
So much for the reverence crown.
