heavenly fathers pet!

i thought i would share a very insightful conversation William and his friend Naomi had in the back seat of my car today!

me: we have to take Naomi to her grandmas house.

William: can we go to our grandmas house?

me: no, its to far today.

William: no, its not far. its by the temple!

Naomi: the temple is a good place.

William: yeah, it heavenly fathers house

Naomi: and church too!

me: yep, the temple and church are both heavenly fathers house and we need to be reverent and use quite voices at church huh?! (mostly directed at William)

William: yes so we don't scare the holy spirit so we can pet him.

me: giggle...what?

William: at the temple we can touch the holy spirit!

Naomi: the holy ghost!

William: yeah,yeah. his a good ghost. he is a pet!

me: full out laughing!

but the kids both seemed to agree with that statement. and i wondered "what are they teaching these kids in primary!?"

so any ways tonight as i was tucking the kids into bed i sang" i love to see the temple" one of the usuals and the words hit me!

i love to see the temple I'm going there someday,
to feel the holy spirit
to listen and to pray.
for the temple is a house of god
a place of love and beauty
I'll prepare myself while i am young
this is my sacred duty!

and i got it! he thought to feel the holy spirit , meant like he was something you can touch like a pet! LOL
(i guess i need to explain it to him a little better!) but, you know in a lot of ways the holy ghost is like Heavenly Fathers pet! "class .. think about that for a while!" :)

i love that by singing a primary song to my kids at night, not only grows their testimony, it puts them to sleep as well! i highly recommend it! (so do the prophets) and in this day and age why not fortify your children in any way you can!
