a cat named Mouse

So let me get this out right up front i am NOT cat person! I am allergic to them, but even if i wasn't, i still find them absolutely obnoxious animals. Regrettably our neighborhood is full of stray cats! Which has caused Shawn and i great amounts of frustration.

As lady luck doesn't usually smile down upon us except for when she is playing a mean trick!

Ivy LOVES cats! she gets so excited when she sees them and borders on absolute bliss when she actually gets to pet one! the problem... Ivy has made fast friends with one of the scrappy stray cats...uggg!

It all started when as for mentioned scrappy annoying cat was eating a big fat mouse/squirrel (i didn't get close enough to really see what it was) in our yard. Ivy was fascinated! Anyways after the cat was finished eating, it walked right up to Ivy and rubbed up all over her purring and begging for attention. Which shocked me as most cats run for their lives from small children.

Any how... so after about a half hour of love and pets from Ivy, i think the cat has developed a bit of a crush on her, because for the last week almost every time i go out side with Ivy the cat shows up. (sigh)


Ivy kept calling him Mouse. which confused me at first, and i kept trying to correct her saying "no, that is a cat!" to which she replied "kitty is Mouse!" with a big smile. Then i got it... she had named the cat Mouse ... (i am assuming because of the first time they met.)

so here he is: the cat named Mouse

he has got a wiggy eye. it looks like it was damaged some how(maybe in a fight?) and it kind of freaks me out.
it also looks like some one had pierced his ears at one point , as each ear has a small puncture scar perfectly centered on the tips.

SO, feeling a bit of sympathy for the dumb cat and seeing how happy it makes Ivy. i guess as long as he behaves himself , He will have a friend in our backyard.
