fall glimpses

Outside my window...
i see a huge oleander tree and the hotel swimming pool, which is getting noticeably cooler, as fall is now upon us. i am seeing the end of the monsoon storms and feel a change in the air.

I am grateful...
for amazing friends who have help lift and support me through this unsteady time in my life, from letting me do my laundry every Tuesday at their house while letting the kids play, i cant even tell you what a blessing that has been for me, and another friend who helped me sew a poodle skirt for Ivy's daddy daughter dance, and letting me get my bake on at their house, friends who babysit lizards, to friends who call to check up on me, and every thing in between!! they are just generally amazing! i have been truly blessed by the wonderful women who surround me, and i am  privileged to call them friends!

I am thinking about...
this past year and all the changes and trials we have experienced. one of these days i am planning on sitting down and hashing it all out, but today i am still in survival mode. so, i am not ready to look at it in a perspective worth sharing, but its on my mind and i am trying to look for the good.

From the schoolroom...
i have no schoolroom, but that hasn't stopped us from learning in different ways, reaching out to new groups and friends and enjoying our time together. still working on the basics and trying to press forward and not be discouraged by lack of notable progress, but to find joy in the smallest of victories.

From the kitchen...
i am missing my oven. but am grateful that 4 nights a week i don't have to think about what to make for dinner as the hotel provides dinner meals Monday- Thursday and breakfast all week!

I am reading...
with my kids, its been a fun way to pass the time and go on whimsical adventures together through places like never-land and pixie hollow to the islands of Tortuga and the damp dank world of mushrooms.

I am hoping...
that we find a house soon, that our prayers will be answered and wounds will be healed.

I am praying...
for Emma, a friends daughter who was just diagnosed with leukemia. for my parents serving as mission president in cape coast Ghana, for my children to just get along, and for Shawn.

A few plans for the rest of the week...
to plan out Williams birthday! to help a friend in need, and to find a house!

a picture to share...
