the trip

i don't know quite how to describe the trip other then sad and beautiful.
it started with me, mom, Janee and Evans taking a plane to Vegas early Friday morning.
then its was a 2 hour drive to st. George. to grandpas house. where i cried even before i walked in the door. but i was so glad to be there!

it was fun to catch up with all the aunts, uncles and cousins that i haven't seen in nearly 4 years! not to mention, all my siblings were there as well. so we all had a good cry together. ( ok it was mostly me crying while they hugged me) but still, it was a happy thing to all be together.

Janee,Breanne,Alinai have never been to a viewing before so i was really nervous, but there was a beautifully painted sunset that calmed me, on our way over.
(i think it was a gift from heaven)it was amazing to see the hundreds of people come through to pay their last respects. she was truly loved! (and i did some more crying.) luckily Janee was crying just as much as me! so we stuck together as people would come tell us how they knew our grandma, and how wonderful she was.

i stood in awe of my dad and his brothers and sister as they smiled and greeted every one, (such pillars of faith and strength! there is a peace in knowing death isn't good bye. and that through the savior we will all be together again someday.) lots of tears and loving memories were spilled over that night.

a bright spot... i knew i would need to get myself in a happier place before the morning, so i arranged a pillow fight between me and my sisters that night! i'd say it did all of our hearts some good!.... oh and even though i am on the bottom of the pile i sooo took Janee down! :)I LOVE MY SISTERS!

Saturday morning was the funeral, and the service was so beautiful and really just perfect. the words were inspiring, reflective loving and sincere. the love for and of grandma was felt by everyone. and i was again, sooo glad i got to be there.
(so thank you, Shawn and dad for making it happen)

we love you grandma

I'm glad you shared that. I'm sorry for the loss of your Grandma, but I'll be it made her smile to see you and your sisters having a pillow fight. It sure made me smile! (and miss you... darnet!)
