little miracles

living in Oregon, my kids are used to my repeated answer to their constant requests to go out and play as.. "no. not today its to cold and wet out side." and so we usually think of something fun to do indoors, but today ... (well not today but earlier in the week when it was still raining.)
Will didn't give up, and said with a huff, just as sick of the cold as i was! "well mom make it stop raining!" i smiled and said "i would love to! but only heavenly father can make the rain stop."

now William is used to being taught how to do things on his own, so of course his response was
" well heavenly father can teach me how to make it stop raining. that would be good, then i can do it, and we can go out and play" i giggled and said "that would be wonderful. but i don't think its some thing heavenly father can teach you but i bet if we prayed and asked him to bring some sun shine, he might stop the rain for you."

i knew it was supposed to be sunny by Friday, so took this as a faith building opportunity. it was so cute how he sat there and analyzed what i had said, with the "i don't think that's quite right mom!" face that i know all too well, as he said "i think he needs to teach me! so i can do it!" but finally agreed to pray and ask for the rain to stop! now i am no weather forecaster but it hasn't rained since the prayer and each day is just getting better and better, and i would like to think that Williams sweet prayer had a little something to do it it!

i think that your kids are the funniest (in a good way) little thinkers ever! I swear i love looking at your blog becasue it just makes me laugh so hard. I can totally see the "L" you were talking about on will's head...poor little fella!
