transformer bedtime

so yesterday afternoon, i was making some lunch and tending to a fussy Ivy when i notice it was a little too quite! and as most parents of toddlers know, that is usually not a good thing! so after i set ivy in her chair with some lunch. , totally expecting markers on the wall or his bed completely disassembled, or some other thing of that nature. i prepared myself to go see what mischief William was up to,

i open the door to his room and was shocked to see him quietly laying in his bed. but before i could say anything, Will popped up and said in a very serious voice "shhhhh, mom the transformers are trying to sleep!"

i look down at the floor and he had lined up all of his little robots and carefully tucked them in with his very most favorite sesame street blanket (that he doesn't share with any one!) i giggled, as he explained that "Optimus Prime was SO tired and they needed to go to sleep!" i told him that it was very sweet of him to tuck them in so nicely and to share his blanket, to which he replied, "i love my robots! they are good robots. but they just need to sleep now." it is moments like that, that make the challenges of raising kids so worth it!
