special moments

I wanted to capture a sweet moment I had with Ivy today, as we were having our "primary time" or i guess you could also call it our "morning devotional" i was talking about how important it was to set goals for our future. and i asked the kids, what they saw them selves accomplishing in life... sweet Ivy said, "i want to be a mom and have a family!" and i asked her," so you want to get married?" and she enthusiastically nodded her head! i then asked her where she wanted to get married and with out hesitation she said, "i want to get married in the Salt lake temple!"

To be honest i was a little taken aback by this, and so i pressed, "why the salt lake temple?"
and she recounted to me this...

"It's hard to explain but, you know that part in The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe where the kids hear the name of Aslan for the first time? ...

well that is how I felt when we went, and I saw that Temple for the first time!  I just knew ever since then that, That was my temple!"

This was wonderful to me for a few reasons,

 one... is she is listening and retaining and relating to characters in the stories we read together!

and 

two,... she connected the feelings she felt at the temple to the spirit.
and she remembers that feeling so vividly she could attach it to the way the kids felt when hearing about Aslan (who is know by another name in our world)

 It just made my heart happy to hear her share her special moment with me, and stand behind it with such conviction! even tho i raised my eyebrows at her choice of that particular temple.

But it truly is a magical place isn't it!?

So it looks like i will have to prep myself for a Utah wedding  in our distant future!
