because i suck....

at sending out Christmas cards....and apparently blogging in 2010... this will be my 2010 "what ever you want to call it"... vent, update, news letter (you choose)

its hard to believe that we have been in Arizona for over a year now... time has flown by and for the life of me i don't know where it went! i find that as i get older life seems to be speeding up at an alarming rate!
our new house
a year ago seems like yesterday... i remember all of us camping out in the master bedroom while mirrors and tile and popcorn ceiling were being removed. picking paint colors for the kids rooms and Shawn designing the new theater...and a slew of other projects that overwhelmed us into basically stopping to catch our breath, and reviewing what we ultimately want out of this house.

Shawn has been great though! juggling work, the house, me, the kids and all other responsibilities and projects like a champ! he is doing very well at his new job with NKK... but hasn't yet given up on his search for the "dream job" and we cheer him on in his search for "happy" employment... :) he is seeing very promising results in his body building goals and despite all the sickness we have experienced this year has come along way... :)
flex those pecks babe!
you have earned them!! ( yummmm! )as for me,
i am still me... mom, wife, mediocre house keeper, and terrible cook! LOL but i keep trying. OO-OO-O0.. i got a new guitar this year! which i am excited to learn to play... (though practice time always seems to elude me) i have made some REALLY great friends down here in the valley of the sun, and have a wonderful support team helping me get through this crazy ride that is my life! oh... did i mention i turned 30! yeah that was fun... NOT!(well the party was) but i am getting over it. kind of ...sort of, well not really... i think, for the record... i will just keep saying i am 28... yes, that sounds good to me... :) i have LOVED homeschooling this year. it is great to watch my kids learn and grow, and to see the joy and pride and triumph in their cute little faces as they grasp new concepts!
just hanging out with my love.... being cute! William lost his first two teeth in 2010!( say that 10 times fast!) and is reading better and better every day!(not because his tooth fell out...but because he is practicing really hard.) he has such an active imagination and sharp wit. he is such a joy to be around! he makes me laugh every day! and is working very hard to develop his joke telling repertoire! which is funny in and of itself.. but if you have a good joke leave it in the "comments" for him! (i am sure he will be thrilled!) he still loves bugs and dirt and snakes and all other creeping things, and has rekindled his love of Legos and Bionicles and anything else you can build or take apart... including electronics and basically anything with screws. and even though he misses his friends and family in Oregon ferociously much, he has found some happiness in the blue skies, fun parks and the swimming pools that AZ has to offer! :)

Ivy is ever the princess... drama queen, sweetie pie, sassy pants, angel...(depending on the day, hour or minute) LOL she has experimented a lot with fashion this year... from her many self haircuts to finding the joys of makeup, markers and/or toothpaste... (she likes to reinvent herself)... i think she gets it from me. ;) other then that she is also into" the 3 P's "... pony's, pet shops and princesses...i guess i can throw a fourth P in and call it performing.. she loves to sing and dance and play her guitar! it has been nice that we are close enough now to watch her papa Dan perform every now and again and she has become his #1 groupie! up front and center dancing her heart out to his music. she is truly one of my little sun spots that brighten my day and makes me happy!
stayin' cool in the pool!

all in all.. 2010 was a good year, a year of change and growth and readjustments!
we look forward to what this new year will have in store for us!
